Today every country in the world is no longer secure from the menace of drug abuse. Even in the most powerful country like America people are gripped by this menace, India is not for behind.

Drugs have been used for medical purposes since time immemorial, but those drugs and Narcotics are being used freely by people all over the world. The number of people using opium, cocaine, charas, sedatives and other narcotics has surpassed all dimensions.

More than 80% drug addicts are in the age group of 12-25 years.

NIRVED FOUNDATION is an in house residential center for people who are addicted to drugs, alcohol and gambling and who wish to break free from their addiction.

The treatment program involves a 3 step procedure of DETOXIFICATION,DE-ADDICTION and REHABILITATION coupled with the 12 step programme of A.A.(Alcoholics Anonymous) simultaneously supported with one to one counselling by experienced certified counsellors. The activities in our centre include a disciplined schedule starting daily at 05.30am and winding up at 10.15pm. Starting the day with Yoga, Meditation and Prayers the inmates are kept active throughout the day with various activities like Input Sessions, Output Sessions, Morning Meetings,Anger Management Therapies, Sharing Experience,Free Time,Games,etc.

Nutritious diet is provided to the inmates keeping in mind pre-existing illnesses like Diabetes,B.P,etc. The duration of the programme ranges between 6 to 8 months depending upon the inmates progress. We have had people from all walks of life and many of our inmates who have successfully completed the programme are maintaining a healthy lifestyle and good relationship with their families, society and their place of work.

With the assistance of the counsellors the patients are made aware for the need to change themselves and their behaviour patterns in order to maintain healthy life style which forms are integrate part in the line of recovery. We also address the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of alcohol and drug addiction allowing our patients to return to their work and their families as they continue to heal from their addiction. We also conduct regular follow-ups with the patients and their families in order to keep ourselves updated with their progress. As part of our programme we also offer free first time counselling for those affected with substance abuse and wish to stop using.

At the same time the families of the inmates are also made aware of what the disease of addiction is all about and how they need to be with the affected one by attending Al-Anon meetings, follow ups with the centre,etc. The inmates are also made aware of the importance of attending A.A and N.A meetings as aftercare therapy and regular follow up with the centre.
